CAMPAIGN LEADERSHIP
Volunteer leadership is essential to a campaign for the following reasons:
Volunteers provide continuity.
Volunteers help to build momentum.
Volunteers make campaigns an all member effort.
Volunteers are necessary to share the work load of campaign responsibilities.
Volunteers help to assure that the campaign is a personal, community-building effort.
Examples of volunteer roles in a six-phase campaign are:
Executive Team - (usually 1% of families) This team is responsible for calling
parish leaders, asking them to attend a meeting, encouraging others to volunteer and
making a gift (no one has to ask for money). It requires attendance at a meeting
each week for about three months.
Team Captains - (usually 2 - 4% of families) These leaders have about the same
role as Executive Team members, except their responsibilities will last for four to six
weeks.
Team Workers - (usually about 10% of families) Requires three to five
weeks of activity.
